1." Last Day Of Summer"-A House, A Home:

Ah such bitter sweet emotion with this song. It's a happy song but the subject is sad and touchy especially because my last day of summer is approaching ever so quickly. This is from the EP, EP and i love the whole thing.

2. "Hex Girlfriend"- Neon Indian:

Another great one from Neon Indian. The year's not over yet but I'm beginning to think that Neon Indian and Washed Out are my favorite electronic groups from this year... or 1 man bands rather. Anyway at the present time, this is my favorite Neon Indian song.

3.  "Sans Violence"- Maxime Boisvert:

To preface this song I will say that I am almost fluent and have a soft spot for french indie. BUT even if you don't speak french, you will still like this song. It's quite pretty. Maxime has a very lovely voice.

4. "Come Home"- Lovers & Fighters:

This song is gorgeous. There's passion in everything. The guitar is also so pretty. It sounds twinkly.

5. " Wave and Cloud (no. 2)"- The Whiskey Priest:

I love the lyrics in this song. It's kind of folk and bluesy and it has that voice that's a comfort voice. It's so nice.

1. "In Dreams"- Echo Lake:

This song is so freaking dreamy. I'm pretty sure a new genre name for this song should be called dreamin' trance because when you hear it it's literally like standing outside yourself watching your self listening to it and seeing a few rainbow swirls along the way.

2.  "In The Morning"- LAISH:

Lovely melodic folk music for your senses.  The vocals are lovely. It's like that voice where when you first hear it it catches you off guard by how friendly it is. Kind of like when Captain Von Trapp first sings in the sound of music.

3. "Something For You"- WIM:

I really like the lyrics of this song. It goes back to my weird love for sea creatures and when he starts singing about a seahorse it almost becomes automatic that I like the song. However all sea creatures aside the song without mention of the seahorse would be really good too.

4. "Submarines"- Dark Captain:

There's a sense of darkness to this song that I like. Not the goth or hardcore rock kind. No. This song is mellow with soft vocals but it's got something about it that seems dark.  I can understand why he is Dark Captain.

5. "Golden Sky"- The Holidays:

I absolutely adore the drums in this song. The vocals are pretty awesome too but maybe the best thing about this song is the imagery the lyrics describe. It's easy to think that you're somewhere warm when you hear it. I also can hear a little bit of a Vampire Weekend kind of sound in this song.

1. "Honey Bunny"- Girls:

Girls are making quite a smash on the music scene lately. I've seen them on a ton of indie websites in the past month or so. This song is a cute and bubbly love song.

2.  "You're A Mystery"- Manor House:

In the beginning there's an ambient beat and soft eery vocals. Mid way through the song a big guitar riff comes in and changes the entire pace of the song.

3. " Vampire Plans"- Mighty Moon:

This song has a nice contrast. His voice and her voice together compliment each other. The perfect musical relationship, voices that compliment each other. I love the instruments as well.

4."Departure"- The Rifts:

This beat kind of reminds me of a mellow Matt and Kim with Lou Reed kind of vocals and then woah. There goes a rap. It sounds really good.

5. "Our Love Lives"- Youth Club:

This is like alternative/indie/punk. It has that garage band kind of sound. Like early Clash. I love the album art work as well.

1.  "If I Had A Gun"- Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds:

This song is magnificent. The lyrics are wonderful and Noel's voice is heaven. It sounds a little like the old stuff from Oasis. But it's incredible.

Listen here.

2. "Cycles Of Sine Waves Peaking Through Valleys"- Magicks:

Oh yes another long indie title and a ridiculous one at that but this is that ambient song that you go to when you need to chill out. Barely audible lyrics but it adds to the mystique.

3. "Bottle Of Wine"- Fused:

Fun lyrics and rock indie/ india fused music. I suppose hence the name. It's great. I would love to hear more from these guys.

4. " London"- Reigndeer:

Okay this song (via bandcamp) is from 2008 buuut.. It's really good and I think it deserves to be recognized. It's got great acoustic guitar and a lovely mellow aura.

5." New Wolf Coat" - Wolfette:

Indie pop. A winning combination especially when it involves female powerhouse vocals. Wolfette can sing.

1. "Look Around"- Red Hot Chili Peppers:

I'm With You is out today! Well it has kind of been out and released yesterday but today it is officially out now! This song sounds a bit like it could be on Stadium Arcadium it has that kind of Chili Pepper sound. Anthony brings back his rapping skills on this song. This whole album is great. I'm STILL waiting for my "to your house on the release date" CD. Go figure.

2.  "Coax Me"- Sloan:

Another fantastic pick from NoiseTrade. Alternative rock with pretty guitar and a great drum beat.  The Whole album is great and you can

3. "Send Me Off To Sleep"- The Nite Lights:

Folk rock. It has that rolling folk sound. It's mellow and bluesy in a not so typical bluesy way. It's from the EP Tumbling Hearts.

4.  "The Edge"- CANT:

CANT is the new solo project of Chris Taylor (From Grizzly Bear). This song is kind of groovy with soft mellow lyrics and a slick beat.

Listen here

5.  "Bedroom Eyes"- Dum Dum Girls:

This sounds a little like the 80s. It's got the 80s beat and even the 80s female vocal aspect to it. But if you're like me and you like the 80s than you'll like this song.

1. "Hands In The Sky"- Here We Go Magic:

I was listening to my ipod on shuffle and this song popped up. I didn't realize that I had it but it's fantastic. It sounds almost a little like Paul Simon at points. It's dreamy and soft.

2. "I Wanna Meet Dave Grohl" -Wavves:

Hey, don't we all? This actually is now my favorite song from Wavves.  There's a pretty distinct difference between this song and the other Wavves songs I've heard. I can't put my finger on it exactly but It's definitely a good difference.

3. "The Reds"- The Casual Maniacs:

Punk Indie! Sometimes I just get in a serious punky mood. I guess today might be one of those days. This is good punk indie.

4. "Océan Mer"- Lune Palmer:

Kind of ambient indie. Dreamy vocals and a nice beat. From the EP Light Light.

You can download it here

5. "Miranda"- Surfer Blood:

New Surfer Blood! It's about time they had new material out! They actually are coming out with a new album on October 25th. What a nice birthday present that will be (2 days late) This song is everything you would expect from Surfer Blood. Upbeat and and chill with the Surfer Blood Beat.

1. "Hurricane"- Bob Dylan:

Okay this song is by no means a new song but where I am right now we just had a hurricane so it's just a song for the occasion.

2. "Four Days Straight (Album Leaf Remix)- Scattered Trees:

I guess this is also sort of hurricane themed (seeing as there are scattered trees all over my road) but not on purpose. I've heard both the original version of this song and this remix and I love both but this remix has a cool kind of echo sound.

3. "Back To L.A."- The Dead Trees:

Okay we're just going to go with the fact that my brain must be tree/hurricane wired today. Either that or everything is just oddly related right now. This song has an awesome beat tied in with beautiful guitar.

Download here  (Right click the song and save link as an mp3)

4. "Little Things"- If This Is A Man:

A soft lovely voice with alike music to accompany it. This is another song that comes from a whole album of good songs. The Album is called Random Acts Of Kindness Have Saved Lives.

5."Stretched"- Paint:

Funky indie music. Not a common combination but I quite like it. It's like Salt and Caramel. An unusual but fantastic and genius combination that brings out the best of the different flavors. The flavors here being funk and indie.
